Steve was on of the good guys.

We both choosed the same career path, we worked together from 1977 to 1981. He would always lend a hand pitch in what we did was highly labor intensive. He told me that Steve Winkelman ( I hope I spelled that right) and him had plans to go to the west coast and become dancers, Winkelman left, Steve stayed. He had knack for getting himself into hiarious stiuations that often ended in some sort of physical distress.

When I had my near fatal accident in Febuary of 81 he was the only one of my age group to come and see me. Steve liked to get high, I don't know when he started but it would take over his life, in these later years family and friends tried to help him to get back on  track. He was in Texas when he passed away, his dad still helping him  to keep him sober.

Steve I hope when you walked into heaven they gave you a torpedo with nothing but good memories.

Love, God bless

I wish I could of done more..

Steve and I danced together many years.  We always had fun and won competitions in the area.  He had a lot of talent.  I am grateful for the years we were able to share dance and friendship.  I hope he kept those memories throughout his life.  I know the last time I saw him we were able to talk about our dance together.  He said to me, "We were quite a pair!" and I think we were.

Steve lived a couple of blocks from me, if i am remembering correctly.  i do remember him as a dancer, as dancing with Pam, and as having a gift and a passion for dancing.  he was a good guy, and i'm glad to see that others think of him in that way.  sometimes life's demons are just too much, but i do pray that he is at peace and that his family is too at peace.

Julie said it perfectly.  Odd in a good way.
He was unique and celebrated it.
